Privacy Policy

This policy describes exactly what data this website handles. It is short because the site deliberately collects almost nothing. It reflects the site's actual implementation; if the implementation changes, this page changes with it.

The short version

  • Every calculator runs entirely in your browser. The numbers you enter are never sent to a server, logged, or shared.
  • The site uses two privacy-respecting analytics services — Google Analytics 4 and Ahrefs Web Analytics — to count anonymous usage events. Neither receives anything you type into the calculators.
  • Google Analytics 4 sets standard analytics cookies (_ga); Ahrefs Web Analytics is cookieless.
  • The hosting provider (Netlify) processes standard technical request logs as part of serving the site.
  • If you email us, we receive your email address and message, and use them only to respond.

How the calculators process information

All calculations — volumes, weights, bag counts, and costs — are performed by JavaScript running locally in your browser. Calculator inputs (dimensions, depth, material choice, price) are:

  • never transmitted to any server by this site;
  • never written into URLs, cookies, or browser storage;
  • never sent to Google Analytics, Ahrefs Web Analytics, or any other service.

You can verify this yourself: the calculators make no network requests while you use them. If a future feature ever needs to send data anywhere (for example, an "email me this estimate" option), it will be strictly opt-in, disclosed here first, and never applied to inputs you enter without your explicit action.

What data is collected

The calculators collect nothing. Analytics (see below) collect anonymous, aggregate usage information — not personal data. There are no contact forms; the only way to provide personal information is to email us directly.

Hosting (third-party service)

The site is served by Netlify. Like essentially all web hosts, Netlify processes technical request logs (such as IP address, user agent, requested URL, and timestamps) to deliver pages, protect against abuse, and operate its service. This site does not use those logs to profile visitors, and calculator inputs are not part of any URL, so they never appear in request logs. Analytics

This site uses two analytics services to understand which tools and pages are useful:

  • Google Analytics 4 (GA4) records page views and usage events (for example, "a calculator was used", "results were copied"), along with device/browser type, approximate location at city or country level, and the referring page. GA4 uses first-party cookies (_ga and related identifiers) to distinguish visits. It does not receive anything you type into the calculators, and Google does not use this data for ad personalization on this site's implementation. Google's own handling is described in Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Ahrefs Web Analytics records page views, referrers, and rough device/browser information. It is cookieless: it sets no cookies and does not identify individual visitors across sites. Ahrefs' handling is described in Ahrefs' privacy documentation.

Analytics events never include the dimensions, prices, or any other values you enter — only that a tool was used. No names, emails, addresses, or precise locations are collected by either service on this site's behalf.

You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google's official opt-out browser add-on, or block both services with any standard ad-blocking or tracking-protection browser extension — every part of this site works fully without them.

Cookies

The only cookies this site sets are Google Analytics 4's standard first-party cookies (_ga and related identifiers) to measure aggregate visits. Ahrefs Web Analytics sets none. The calculators themselves do not use cookies or browser storage — nothing you enter is stored anywhere on your device or ours.

Contacting us

If you email ianwelkins@gmail.com, we receive the address and content you send. It is used only to read and reply to your message, is not added to any mailing list, and is not shared with third parties.
